Our Work
-

WILDLIFE RESCUE, CARE & RELEASE
Our emergency rescue team travels all over Cambodia to recover wild animals that are injured, disoriented or captive. Our experts are trained to assess the situation, recover animals and provide them with the necessary care before releasing them or transporting them to the most appropriate facility.
-

COMMUNITY FOREST PROTECTION
Our community forest protection team specialises in building the capacity of local rangers to improve patrols, raise awareness and rescue animals in distress. Sustainable wildlife conservation and forest protection can only be achieved through the direct involvement of local communities.
-

ANGKOR CONSERVATION PROJECT
One of our leading programs, we are working with the Cambodian government to increase the biodiversity and improve the protection of the forests surrounding the Angkor temples. CWC is providing expertise, building capacity and conducting biodiversity research in collaboration with APSARA National Authority.
-

EDUCATION & AWARENESS
In order to reduce the pressure on natural ecosystems and on wildlife for bushmeat, traditional medicine or exotic pets, mentalities have to evolve. We need to push for a change of attitude within the Cambodian society. Carefully crafted videos and campaigns designed by conservationists and media experts will achieve this goal.
-

ECOTOURISM DEVELOPMENT
Along with local organisations and communities, we are developing sustainable methods of encouraging visitors to enjoy Cambodia’s rich natural resources, with a view to benefitting local people. This will include birdwatching in Siem Reap and experiencing some of Cambodia’s endangered wildlife in Kampong Speu and Takeo provinces.
-

SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Working with local farmers to reduce the use of chemical intrants and stubble burning in ricefields to limit soil and water pollution around Angkor and encourage organic farming practices.
